Kloof Eye, the practice of Dr. Riel de la Bat, is located in Pretoria East at Cure Day Clinic Erasmuskloof.
Our doctors are individually qualified ophthalmologists that treat many types of eye diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration (AMD), cataracts, dry eye and keratoconus . Our services also include on-site laser treatment for diabetic retinopathy, capsular opacification (YAG) and glaucoma. Our cataract surgery is done with the Callisto Eye Suite using the best lens measurements by the Zeiss IOL master.
In addition to these professional services, we also have a full-time optometrist for cycloplegic refractions, visual field testing and blepharitis treatment. We offer full eye health examination for adults and children.

Cataract Surgery
Cataract (from the Latin word ‘cataracta’, meaning ‘waterfall) causes an overall decrease in vision, contrast sensitivity loss and reduced colour vision, as if you are looking though a waterfall.
Glaucoma Surgery
Glaucoma is an asymptomatic disease that slowly steals your peripheral vision over time. Glaucoma occurs when the optic nerves are damaged due to increased intra-ocular pressure (IOP).
Diabetic Eye Disease

AMD
Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD) causes distortion of the central vision and if left untreated, can lead to a black spot in the middle of your vision (central scotoma).
Dry Eye
Dry eye is the most common eye problem. If you experience a burning, scratchy, red eyes that is also watery on occasion, dryness might most likely be the cause. Severe dry eye can even result in decreased vision.
Oculoplastic Surgery
Surgery involving the adnexa of the eye is called oculoplastic surgery. Two common oculoplastic surgeries that we perform, are eyelid surgery and tear duct surgery.
